Layla Nickelsen has spent the majority of her life knowing
she is different. She's also spent it running, knowing that
at some point a predestined mate would come looking for
her, a mate she doesn't' want. Her mother went insane after
her Amoveo father abandoned them. Who's to say it'll be any
different for Layla? Hoping to hide out for a while in the
one place she considers safe, Layla runs home, only to
discover that her mate has not only found her but has
followed her there.
William Fleury can't believe he's finally found his mate,
especially one as free-spirited as Layla. Now if only he
could get her to accept that fact that they're meant for
each other. Constantly worried that the Puriests, the group
of Amoveo's dedicated to killing anyone who isn't pure
Amoveo, are going to come after Layla and her adoptive
family, William will do anything to protect them, even if
it means walking away from the woman he loves.
I started reading Sarah Humphreys' UNTAMED not knowing it
was the third book in the Amoveo Legend series. Admittedly
it took me a chapter or two to get into the book because
the story picks up from where the last book left off, but
once I got over that initial hurdle, I was hooked. The
thing I probably liked most about this story was Humphreys
went beyond the predestined mate insta-love and actually
focused on building a relationship between her characters.
The sizzling chemistry, drama and suspense were enough to
make me a fan of this series. I can't wait to read the
previous books and I look forward to future installments.
The Amoveo are an ancient race who've lived secretly among
humans for thousands of years. They are beautiful and
incredibly strong but their race is extremely fragile—each
has until the age of 30 to find their soul mate, before
their bodies start to die a slow, painful death.
Layla Nickelsen has spent her life running from a mate she
didn't choose, until William Fleury finally confronts her.
Normally stoic and unemotional, William finds himself
befuddled by Layla: his growing feelings for her and his
driving need to protect her. And Layla has to admit that
William might be everything she's always wanted after all...
