Inspirational Historical

Cassie Lockwood was part of her father's Wild West show all her life until he died and his partner declared that the show was bankrupt. Cassie has her doubt's through out the book. Apparently, this is the second book of the series and I look forward to reading the first and last books of the series.

Cassie and her long life friends from the show travel to South Dakota to find her father's ranch, which she is part owner of now. She wants to follow her father's dreams and she wants to settle down. Both her parents have passed on and the only family she has are her friends from the show, sadly, it's a time where American Indians are not accepted with open arms.

When she arrives at the ranch with her three American Indian friends, she meets the family of her dad's partner he had left behind to become part owner in the Wild West Show many years ago. The family welcomes her friends to the area, but there are some from the town that would rather have them leave, as soon as possible. Actually, her sons are a bit cold to Cassie until Mavis tells them the true story of the partnership between Cassie's father and theirs. Mavis's husband had dies years ago, so Cassie has information to show them that she is half partner of the ranch now.

As time goes on, Cassie is made to feel like family and her friends are accepted as such. They start to build on friendship, love, and helping each other make a new life on the ranch. But there is trouble brewing over her American Indian friends.

WHISPERS IN THE WIND is the second book in a series. I did not read the first one, but this book stands alone very well. In order to finish the story I will need to read the next one that comes out because I am anxious to know how it all turns out, but again this book still stands alone. I think that is a rare talent for an author. The fact that there was no romance at all in this book and it stood alone based totally on the story is another sign of a great author. Ms. Snelling knows her craft. I loved WHISPER IN THE WIND.

A must read book!!!
