Romance Historical
Amelia Staunton was only trying to help Prudence find
happiness with the man slated to offer for her hand, but
instead she and the exasperating Scotsman are discovered in
an extremely compromising situation. When will she learn not
to meddle? This time it may cost her dearly, not only one of
her dearest friends but the loss of what gives her life
meaning, her secret career as an author.
Malcolm MacCabe is determined to become a political force in
London, set on improving the lot of his fellow Scotsmen. For
that he needs the perfect political wife, one far above
reproach and able to smooth his way through wilderness of
the Ton. Prudence fit the bill nicely but he is having a
hard time resigning himself to becoming leg-shackled to the
dull and quiet chit, especially when compared to her equally
irreproachable friend Amelia Staunton of the golden hair and
laughing eyes. When they are discovered in their late night
tête-à-tête , he is well-pleased with the turn of events.
Now he need only overcome Amelia's perplexing desire to
escape their fate.
In SCOTSMEN PREFER BLONDES Sara Ramsey continues her unusual
Muses of Mayfair series with another hero and heroine
with much to learn before their romance can flourish. Ramsey
excels at creating layered, satisfying plots with plenty of
humor and characters who are not the typical historical
romance fare. I am eagerly awaiting the third in the series,
The Marquess Who Loved Me.
SUMMARY
She never wanted marriage... When a friend is forced to
consider a marriage of convenience, Lady Amelia Staunton is
determined to rescue her. But her plans trap her in an
illicit seduction, and Amelia must marry him herself.
Malcolm's all–consuming kisses and devilish humor
might make up for her lost freedom, but she believes he will
force her to abandon the Gothic romances she yearns to
write. Since she can't escape him, she must distract him
from her secret... He isn't looking for love... A
powerful autocrat with a well–hidden rebellious
streak, Malcolm MacCabe doesn't need another beautiful
mistress – he needs an obedient wife. Obedience is not one
of Amelia's virtues. But he's too enthralled by her wit and
passion to let her go – even if it means risking the
political reputation he is building to save his
clan. Their hearts can't survive the
scandal... Despite
their intentions, every wicked embrace binds them together.
But as their conflicting desires combust into insatiable
hunger and unavoidable ruin, they must decide whether to
pursue their personal destinies alone – or fight for the
love that could destroy them both.
