Borntrager, an Amish lad, continues, Deputy Sheriff Mose
Kramer and his detective friend, Luke Reynolds, don't like
where things are pointing. While the Amish community
members in Crittenden County, Kentucky have opened up a
little to Luke as he tries to solve this crime, he knows
more secrets are still being kept behind closed lips.
Perry hadsgotten into some bad ways and had been dealing
drugs shortly before his death, but his death and its
impact have devastated his family. His sister, Deborah, has
to carry the burden as her mother just can't get over
her grief and her father is filled with anger.
Seeking to get away from the bleakness of her home and to
get some money for a little independence, Deborah decides
to get a job. She is prepared to do anything, but none
could be found, except at Schrock's Variety Store. Jacob's
parents run the store and when they were young, Perry and
Jacob had been the best of friends. But now, is it
possible...is he really the prime suspect in the murder
investigation? What has happened?
Meanwhile, life goes on. Frannie, the owner of the Bed and
Breakfast, and Luke are now as sweet on each other as
Frannie's
famous desserts. One of Perry's Englischer friends, Walker
Anderson, is now going out with Lydia, an Amish girl and
Perry's former girlfriend, after they had re-connected with
each other during the investigation. They have their own
tough decisions to make as Amish women can only be married
to others of their own faith or they will be shunned.
What will they do?
