Thriller

Ex-CIA agent and former Green Beret Blaine McCracken and several of his closest associates were known as the ones to contact if you need to pull off the impossible job, but they haven't seen much action for the past several years. That changes when Blaine is brought in to rescue hostages from an evil Mexican drug lord. He and Johnny Wareagle complete the mission successfully, but one of the hostages is killed in the gunfight that ensues. Blaine hates to lose anyone and it weighs on him.

A week later, to celebrate turning 60, Blaine and his long- time buddies plan to meet in New Orleans. No sooner do Blaine and Johnny arrive than they learn that one of their friends is reported dead after a disaster on an offshore oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Further investigation into the tragic accident reveals some extremely perplexing information. Calling on the expertise of his friends, Blaine and his aging band of specialists set out to locate the terrifying source that caused the catastrophe. Fearing it to be the doomsday element known as dark matter, it soon becomes a race against time to save the world.

Could the ancient mythical Greek legend of Pandora's Temple, built to house a unique jar that could destroy the world if opened, have anything to do with what's happening today? Blaine's journey to find the answer and stop the chaos involves more action-adventure than seems humanly possible to withstand. Will the evil men pursuing the dark matter legend for nefarious reasons be stopped?

Jon Land has brought back one of his readers' favorite characters from his first-ever series and given Blaine McCracken an exhilarating, action-filled thriller that is thoroughly entertaining first page to last. The break-neck speed of the narrative, the exemplary development of the plotline and the complex interaction among the characters makes PANDORA'S TEMPLE a must-read for the action-adventure enthusiast.

SUMMARY

Pandora's Temple sees Blaine McCracken, the hero of Jon Land's first-ever series, return to action after a mystifying disaster at sea. He answers the call, discovers what he's up against and recruits his longtime partner in crime-fighting, Johnny Wareagle.

Together, in a race against time, they pursue the source of the most ancient and terrifying weapon the world has yet encountered: dark matter. But a wealthy magnate and a doomsday cult leader are also seeking this weapon, each for their own nefarious reasons - even if they must kill to capture and control it.

Braving Mexican drug gangs, killer robots, an army of professional assassins, and a legendary sea monster, McCracken and Wareagle find themselves confronting an unbelievable reality at the source of their quest. . . .
