When we last left Shiloh P. Jacobs in Staunton, VA, she had
just become engaged to Adam Carter. As we return one year
after Shiloh arrived in Staunton, she is working at The
Leader, the local newspaper, finally using her degree
in journalism again. She's in charge of writing criminal
investigation stories and is intrigued by a cold case her
photographer friend Meg lays on her desk. Amanda Cummings
disappeared from Staunton 12 years ago, and no one has seen
or heard from her since. When Shiloh begins asking
questions about the case, mysterious things happen.
Shiloh receives a rose bouquet from someone other than her
fiancé on her birthday. The message on the card makes no
sense to her at all. The deeper Shiloh digs, the more clues
surface that someone does not want her snooping into this
case. There are mysterious phone calls and hang ups, more
roses and notes with weird messages, drawings and emails
that cannot be traced. And then there are some odd
correlations in her mother's old letters. When someone
begins stalking Shiloh, everyone fears for her life. But
Shiloh is not one to back down from a challenge. When she
should be thinking about wedding cake and bridal gowns, she
continues to pursue this case. Will she live to see her
wedding day?
This is my third visit to Staunton with these zany
characters in this redneck town. "TIL GRITS DO US PART is
just as much fun as the first two. Shiloh has now been cow
tipping, experienced chiggers and knows more about kissing
cousins than she wants to know. Although this book is a
lesson in "redneck speak," bluegrass music and good
Southern food, it is also filled with inspirational
thoughts and a lot of philosophy about life. It's a story
about endings and new beginnings. I highly recommend the
entire series!

opposite direction—right into the would-be killer’s web of
