Alison Parker finds out her mom is dying and she wants to
come home to Rocky Mountain House to be with her but she
knows her mom doesn't want to be "cared for". Alison's
father had a long painful death that was extremely hard on
his family and Alison knows that is why her mom is keeping
her illness a secret. Alison has a plan that will make her
mom happy and give her the opportunity to be there for her
mom. Now all she has to do is propose to Gabe and hope he
says yes.
Gabe Coleman is the oldest son and is doing everything he
can to keep his family's portion of the Coleman ranch out
of bankruptcy. If only his stubborn father would listen to
him and let him bring organic farming and ranching to their
place they might just make something for themselves in the
competitive and often failing business. After a long hard
day Gabe heads home and is stunned when a weary Alison
arrives to his cabin and just before passing out she asks
him to be her fiancé.
Alison explains to Gabe about her situation and he agrees
to pose as her fiancé beginning with moving her into his
cozy cabin. It doesn't take long for the sparks to start
flying but the two have agreed to be "just friends". The
more time they spend faking an engagement the closer they
become, will it be just a matter of time until they become
lovers as well as friends? In a time of such grief and loss
can Alison and Gabe find the happiness and joy that lasts a
lifetime?
Book four of the Six Pack Ranch series, ROCKY MOUNTAIN
ANGEL is the first novel that doesn't focus on the Six Pack
Colemans. We get our first in depth look at the Angel
Colemans and a bit of the Whiskey Creek Colemans. I
completely fell in love with Gabe his sense of honor and
big heart won me over from the get go. I adored Gabe's
younger brother Rafe and look forward to him growing and
having his own story at some point. For my fellow readers
who have been with the series from the beginning you will
treasure the sneak peek into Travis' secrets which author
Vivian Arend and been teasing us with. For those who want
to read the book on its own it is written so that you won't
be lost but I recommend starting from the beginning promise
you will enjoy the ride.
Allison Parker needs a convincing excuse to come home to Rocky Mountain House. A hopelessly romantic reason that won’t let her mother suspect the truth—that Allison has discovered Mom is keeping a terrible secret from the family. Gabe Coleman is struggling with two of the roughest parts of ranching: dealing with his bull-headed mule of a father, and making enough to pay the bills. When his old friend Allison offers to help him develop his ideas for organic ranching—in trade for pretending to be her fiancé—it sounds like the perfect set-up. Yet the deception leads them in an unexpected direction, where their shared daily hells are erased by nights of heavenly distraction. It’s not supposed to be real, but once the gates are opened, there’s no denying they’ve found in each other a little bit of Paradise. To break free of the past and face the future, though, will take more than temporary pleasures. It’ll take putting their hearts on the line. Warning: Tortured hero with a guardian-angel complex, grief-stricken heroine willing to sacrifice everything for family. Break out the tissues, this trip to the ranch is a heartbreaker on the way to the HEA.
