I completely enjoyed this refreshing book by Nash! THE ARE
OF DUKE HUNTING
held none of the dark sinister plots that so
many romances do, instead the story stayed light, funny, and
kept the temperature rising! I have adored all of Nash's
previous books and did not think that she would let me down
with this one. Who would have thought that even a story
about a cursed man could be so whimsical, so carefree so
almost perfect for the moment? I was looking for something
bright and romantic and I found it in THE ART OF DUKE
HUNTING
for sure!
The Countess of Derby, Esme, has lived by two rules: never
let anyone distract you from your dreams and never ever give
away your heart. When she sets sail on the trip of a
lifetime she never expected her adventure to come in the
arms of a man. Yet she finds herself saving a man about to
go overboard into the storm tossed waters of the sea. What
Esme pulled out was everything her heart seems to desire.
Only sharing first names the two agree to share an adventure
together, as long as no one from London ever knows. Can Esme
resist the lure of Roman, avoid being forced to marry, and
manage to reclaim her stolen heart?
Roman Montague, the Duke of Norwich, has always vowed not to
marry. In fact it is a rule he lives by; that and to never
go to sea. The fear of dying in its icy waters has always
kept Roman on land. So how did he find himself waking up in
the arms of a woman on a ship? A bachelor party of course.
Roman finds himself lured to Esme and wants nothing more
than to spend the voyage in her presence, in her arms, and
most of all in her bed. But how does he get her there in the
first place without anyone knowing?
What I really loved about Roman is that he is not the
typical mushy 'I would die for you' hero. He is quite the
opposite in fact, yet he remains witty, he remains charming,
and he certainly worms his way into the heart. I adored
Esme! She is her own woman, standing on her own two feet,
making her own decisions and dead set on staying that way.
As it is with every independent woman it takes a strong man
to make us change our minds. The writing pace was fantastic,
the plot kept moving and never seemed to lull, and the
dialogue between characters was simply what every reader
asks for. I loved all the interaction and conversations, and
of course the hot steamy romance did not hurt anything
either! One thing that I was very glad to see Nash do was
keep us informed about the first book. I love to see
characters again and again throughout a series and Nash
delivered.
The Hangover meets Regency England in RITA Award-winning
author Sophia Nash’s wickedly clever and wonderfully
sensual Royal Entourage historical romance novels. In The
Art of Duke Hunting, the second in her series, the dashing
Duke of Norwich—on the morning after a most extravagant
royal bachelor party that he simple cannot recall—awakens
on board ship and well out to sea…and in the arms of a
stranger, an enchanting and most proper lady. The Art of
Duke Hunting is funny, sexy, and wonderfully romantic, as
fans of Karen Hawkins, Elizabeth Boyle, and Victoria
Alexander will most assuredly agree. And unlike the members
of the Royal Entourage, you will happily recall every
delicious moment of it!
