A SEASON FOR SIN is a short novella introducing Vicky
Dreiling's new series the Sinful Scoundrels. In this book,
readers meet the Earl of Bellingham, who goes by the name
of
Bell. Bell is a man of order and control. Every aspect of
his life is carefully managed. Also, as a man of lusty
appetites, Bell has a mistress who is worthwhile in bed,
but
not worth the constant yammering of complaints. Bell
decides
that it is time for him to cut her loose and find a new
mistress. What he doesn't know is that his mistress has
plans on replacing him as well and before he can say the
words to disown her, she has left him.
As the days go on, it seems that more and more people are
leaving Bell's side. First his mistress, then his renowned
chef, and now his friends are slowly, but surely settling
down with a nice wife, leaving Bell alone.
This is where Dreiling introduces readers to the other
Sinful Scoundrels, Colin Brockhurst, Earl of Ravenshire and
Harry Norcliffe, Viscount Evermore. These men force Bell
back into society where he finds interests in a sweet widow
named Laura Davenport.
A SEASON FOR SIN is meant to introduce the Sinful
Scoundrels
and entice readers to look forward to this new series.
Dreiling does it well, but readers should know that this
novella does not have a solid conclusion. It will continue
on in the first book of the series, which makes up for the
fact that this novella ended rather abruptly.
However, Dreiling crafts an intriguing hero in Bell. So
used
to having his way, Bell must now loosen the grip he has on
life and let fate take him where it wants it. Bell doesn't
fight too much because once he sets his eyes on widow,
Laura
Davenport, he sees the allure of having someone like her at
his side.
A SEASON FOR SIN is a short but sweet glimpse into Vicky
Dreiling's new series. Filled with intrigue and seduction,
readers are sure to enjoy this treat and the prospects of
what's to come.
The Earl of Bellingham is nothing is not a creature of habit: money, meals, and mistresses must be strictly managed if a man is to have a moment's peace. It's a system that works splendidly for him--until now. With his oldest and dearest friends succumbing, one by one, to wedded bliss, Bell is now restless and a trifle lonely. Enter the Sinful Scoundrels--Colin Brockhurst, Earl of Ravenshire, and Harry Norcliffe, Viscount Evermore--who drag him back into society and draw his rakish eye to the ton's new beautiful young widow. Bell isn't after a wife, but a challenge. And Laura Davenport should fit the bill quite nicely...
