Phineas McKinney has been fighting Malcontents, evil
vampires, ever since he was saved by the good vampires.
Always happy in his role as the 'Love Doctor', Phin has had
his share of fun but now, watching all his friends fall in
love one by one, Phin realizes how much he hates the
persona he's created. When he's teamed up with Brynley
Jones to hunt for the new leader of the Malcontents, Phin
wants Brynley to see a different side of him. Phin does all
he can to prove to her he's not the man he used to be, but
with Bryn's hatred of vampires pretty apparent, is there
anything he can do to prove to her he's a good guy?
Sacrificing her cushy life as a werewolf princess for her
freedom, Brynley Jones left her pack to find her brother
only to discover he had teamed up with vampires. Now the
new leader of the Malcontents is proving to be dangerous
and Bryn is being forced to join forces with Phineas, a
vampire she wants to hate yet has a hard time resisting. As
sparks fly between Bryn and Phin, danger circles around
them from all sides. Having to contend with the Malcontents
is bad enough, but add Bryn's father, her wolf pack and an
unwanted jilted werewold fiance to the mix, and you have
enough danger to last a lifetime. With all those forces
doing their best to keep them apart, will the love that
Bryn and Phin
have be able to survive?
For those who've only ever thought of Phineas as a corny
side character and didn't think he had great hero making
appeal, be prepared to be proven wrong. In WANTED: UNDEAD
OR ALIVE the twelfth book in the Love at Stake
series,
Kerrelyn Sparks shows us a more mature Phineas who has
grown up and is ready to find the kind of love his friends
have. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with this
Phineas. Gone is the cocky and corny jokester and in his
place we meet a man who's been through a lot and is trying
to do his best to get through the new life he's been given.
Brynley brings her own problems and complications to the
relationship and I liked how they seemed to balance each
other out. As always, a visit with previous characters is
always a delight and some interesting new characters hold
the potential for some great stories in the future. With
the delightful addition of WANTED: UNDEAD OR ALIVE to the
series, Kerrelyn Sparks shows she's still on top and has
what it takes to put out an engrossing page turner. This
isn't one you want to miss.
Phineas McKinney thought New York City was tough, until he
was attacked by Malcontents—evil vampires who consider
mortals to be snacks. Saved by the good vampires, Phin swore
to devote his now undead life to stopping the Malcontents.
He's got his job cut out for him when word comes that their
enemy may be hiding in Wyoming. What does a city boy like
him know about horses and campfires? Good thing he's got
Brynley Jones with him . . . if only she didn't hate every
vampire on earth.
She's a werewolf princess . . .
Bryn believes vampires are seductive and charming, and that
makes them dangerous. So she's more than a little annoyed
about teaming up with Phin, even if he is the only
bloodsucker able to make her inner wolf purr. But as they
hunt down the new leader of the Malcontents, danger
threatens . . . and Phineas and Brynley discover a passion
that will rock the foundation of their supernatural world.
