Kendra Cavelli is a 26 year old Homicide Detective for
the Aurora Police Department. Her life is complicated;
losing her former retired partner and dealing with a new
family. Kendra's father, Sean, recently discovered he was
accidentally switched at birth and is truly a Cavanaugh and
now part of an affluent and huge family. Used to the senior
partner, the spirited Kendra is a loner until learning of
her new partner, the sinfully good looking and extremely
tall Matthew Abilene. Still coping with the death of her
fiancée she is extremely bitter at his suicide.
Partnering together is the beginning of bickering and
adjustments as Kendra is tagged with the nickname "Good"
and gives back as good as she gets. Matthew is known to
have a following of women of his choice and has no
intention of beginning a permanent relationship with
anyone. Investigating a murder and following the twisted
clues, things get a little steamed between them and neither
is able to pull back. Not only is the case sizzling but the
sex is hot as a firecracker leaving both wanting more. The
humorous taunting aside Matthew soon proves to be a
competent partner and things are turning serious between
them. Once Matthew realizes this is not a one night stand,
finding a way to convince the feisty female to give in to
her feelings is an all-consuming project for him.
Another story of the Cavanaugh family and their family
of policemen centers this time on the daughter, Kendra.
Giving up on love and feeling outcast and guilty over the
suicide, Kendra wards off commitment. The humorous
bickering and bantering keeps CAVANAUGH RULE alive and fun to
read. CAVANAUGH RULE is another chapter in the family saga
which I
very much enjoyed. I look forward to more from Marie Ferrarella
about this very interesting family.
On the heels of losing her fiancé, Kendra Cavelli doesn't
want another partner, especially not one as sinfully
handsome as Detective Matt Abilene.
She has enough troubles with her family's latest secret,
which calls her whole identity into question.
Is she a Cavelli or a Cavanaugh? But she can't ignore the
man looking over her shoulder during a grizzly crime scene
or how he makes her feel. As she and Matt work to solve a
baffling homicide, Kendra learns the self-confessed loner is
as commitment-wary as she. And these two wrongs make for a
sizzling attraction that feels oh-so right.
