Big Sky Mountain meant something special, unique to Hutch
Carmody. It was a place he rode to many times in his life
in good and bad times. Made love to perhaps the love of his
life there. But seemingly more important it was where he
made his personal peace with his father John. Their
relationship was strained leaving Hutch with conflicting
feelings when it came to this man who sired another son out
of wedlock shocking his mother and leaving them to live in
the shadow of that affair. Bad enough that Hutch felt
insecure and inferior to his brother Slade who in their
father's eyes was the son he prized.
Hatch wasn't doing too well in the male female relationship
area either having broken quite a few hearts along the way
earning a less then complimentary reputation. When Kendra
returns after her husband Jeffrey death there's no denying
the strong attraction between her and Hutch. Kendra's life
has become complicated over the last few years and after
adopting the child conceived during one of Jeffrey's
affairs she is driven by her responsibility and love for
this child. Madison had been through the child welfare
system and Kendra knows there are still some emotional
scars and some deep insecurities. The last thing she can
afford are any more disappointments to Madison and in
Kendra's mind Hutch in their lives is sure to wind up
doing just that. So Kendra is determined to keep her
distance but in a small town like Parable that is just
impossible.
Madison's occasional visits with Hutch already leave an
indelible mark on this impressionable smart little girl who
would like nothing more than to have this cowboy man in her
life -permanently. But Kendra knows better. Hutch doesn't
do permanent. And now Kendra has someone else's heart to
protect more than her own, Madison's. How do you stop a
little girl from falling in love with a man who is gentle
and kind? How do you prevent yourself from making that same
mistake all over again? All good questions, perhaps a leap
of faith is needed to see if there is a future for the
three of them.
I loved BIG SKY MOUNTAIN the story of Kendra, Hutch and
Madison and yes I'm
including the little girl in this romance since she will
steal your heart. But I am absolutely hooked on all three
of the men who are featured in the Parable Montana
Slade's story and now Hutch's. I can't wait for Boone's
story. I'm hooked before it is even released but knowing
Linda Lael Miller it's coming. Miller has a way with
people, young and old, and all sorts of animals that are
featured in all her books. They are remembered fondly and
each book is like returning home for a welcome visit.
The "First Lady of the West," #1 New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller, brings you to Parable, Montana- where love awaits. With his rugged good looks, vast wealth and family name, hell-raiser Hutch Carmody is still the golden boy of Parable, Montana. But he's done some growing up—making peace with his illegitimate half brother and inheriting half of Whisper Creek Ranch, which should have been all his. These days, Hutch knows there are some things money can't buy: like the heart of loving, ladylike divorcée Kendra Shepherd. Kendra's quiet mansion reminds her of what she wants most—a devoted husband and the pitter-patter of little feet. She can't get Hutch Carmody out of her mind. But a rough-and-tumble cowboy like Hutch, coming home for family dinner? Seems crazy! Then again, crazier dreams have become reality under the vast Montana sky.
