Jessica Pennington has made a career out of teaching people
the social niceties for personal and business success. She's
poised to take her company to the next level with the
publication of her book but one thing stands in her way... a
vicious stalker. Someone hates Jessica and won't hesitate to
hurt her or those around her. Jeff Lyon, Jessica's friend
and publisher, sends help in the form of the McCormack
Security Agency, a company founded with his help by men his
brother Zach served with in Afghanistan.
Noah Samuels knows the Agency owes its existence to Jeff so
he agrees to take on the protection detail for Jessica, even
if the thought of babysitting Miss. Priss stretches his
patience. When the threats quickly escalate he knows he's
going to have to stay close to keep Jessica alive and safe.
Jessica isn't willing to put her business on hold and as
Noah watches her he begins to see the vulnerable and warm
woman behind the proper exterior. As the danger grows and
the attraction builds, things turn serious in more ways than
one.
From first page to last, GUARDING JESS is brimming with
action-packed romantic suspense. The threat from the
stalker is relentless, escalating the suspense and keeping
you guessing until the very end. There were a number of
unexpected twists that enhanced the plot. Both Noah and
Jessica are strong but wounded characters. I enjoyed how
their personal stories unfolded as they found their way to
each other. GUARDING JESS is book two in the McCormack
Security Agency Series.
Jessica Pennington's work as an etiquette coach requires her
to be polite and proper at all times, especially now that
she has a book coming out. The only thing that rattles her
reserve is the increasingly violent emails and texts from
her persistent stalker. With the book launch in jeopardy,
she reluctantly hires a bodyguard.
Noah Samuels hates stuck-up, prim people like Jessica. He's
more the blunt, straightforward type. But to advance up the
ranks at McCormack Security, he has to take the high-profile
assignment. After a near miss on his first day on the job,
Noah realizes that the stalker isn't just hype cooked up to
sell books—the threat is real.
As the stalker escalates from letters to letter bombs, Noah
sees a vulnerable side of Jessica that rouses more than just
his protective instincts. But can she let down her guard
long enough to trust Noah before it's too late?
