Riley's head must be reeling. She has recently been
attacked and changed into a vampire and has two passionate
men to deal with. Vitorian believes she should be his
while Eli wishes to continue their caring relationship.
The pair continuously bother her throughout the book,
almost smothering her with affection. There are other
vampires that bother Riley throughout the book as well,
from Valerian to Julian. They are present throughout much
of the book and more of a nuisance than anything. Riley's
biggest regret may
be that she no longer can be a tattoo artist, as she has too
many changes going on.
Riley's character seems not to have not changed from the
previous few novels at
first, but she is slowly becoming more and more evil. Riley
doesn't handle some changes well, and readers will get to
experience her new life and mannerisms with her. It is
interesting to see how the relationships between Riley and
her group are changing. She refuses to admit when
something is troubling her, even when her friends and/or
boyfriend could help her.
Riley and Eli have the most
trouble. According to Riley, Eli can get annoying, but
then she turns around and decides she loves him. The plot
itself was a little discombobulated, readers will have
to keep many subplots straight as well as a sudden influx
of new characters.
Even though the storyline does sometimes feel overwhelming
and there a lot of new characters I thought EVENTIDE was
worth the reading time as the story line continues in the
Dark Ink Chronicles series.
Newly-bitten tattoo artist Riley Poe feels herself changing in unimaginable ways. Eli Dupre, her vampire lover, has seen the change in her and fears for her humanity. His rival, Victorian, tells her she must see the patriarch of the vampire cult that attacked her to save her soul. In the vampire cult's fortress in Romania, Riley will face her worst fears-and the dark powers threatening to destroy her. And she'll have to do the one thing she's been determined not to do-put her trust in Eli.
