Mercedes Johanna Hollowell is summoned home to Lovett, Texas
after many years to attend her cousin's wedding. The quirky
girl with a mind and spirit of her own was raised by her
father, a rough and rugged rancher following her mother's
death when Sadie was just a child, and with no ability to
teach a daughter how to be a lady. Therefore, "Sadie" could
swear like a cowboy and ran wild before attending college
and pursuing the real estate business in Phoenix. Clive
Hollowell runs a 10,000 acre farm, being one of the oldest
spreads around. Approaching her destination Sadie is
sidetracked by a broken down vehicle and a hunky muscle man,
Vincent James Haven from Washington. With the threat of a
stun gun for defense, Sadie gives the retired Seals vet a
ride to the Gas and Go after being turned down to repay the
favor by being her date for the wedding.
Out of place at the wedding takes a sharp turn when she
connects with the handsome Vince who decides to honor her
request. Uncontrollable steamy passion overtakes them both
in the bride's room but ends up being one sided. Sadie walks
away the lucky one! This begins their "friends-with-
benefits" relationship with no permanent attachments on
either side. The passionate hot sex involving them both,
binds them together and Sadie's feelings begin to deepen.
How far will they let the feelings go?
I absolutely was drawn into this very emotional and
nostalgic story of a young woman with a desire for belonging
and powerful need for love and commitment. When two spunky
and very independent people come together, the sparks fly
and steamy sizzling sex is the product. RESCUE ME was such a
fun book to read, although very emotional in dealing with
emotional events. Rachel Gibson has done her research
concerning the medical aspects of this story and hit home
for me. This is a new series about coming home within your
heart and an exceptional read.
