Ready for the twelfth book in the Joe Pickett series? I am!
Within this addition to the series we are introduced to
Nate. He is a friend of Joe's, and an escaped convict. Nate
was "convicted" due to three dead bodies found in a boat,
but Joe is not so sure. The deeper Nate digs into the
murders, the more he discovers that nothing is as it seems.
Why would someone kill off men from his former military unit
and go after Nate? Joe decides to try to help, but will his
efforts come to fruition or is there too much evidence
against Nate?
Joe must decide between his friend and his integrity and
name as perceived by the public. It never looks good to help
a convict unless you have a darn good reason. I enjoyed
Joe's internal fights over right and wrong and how he came
to his eventual decision. Nate is a bit of an enigma, but
part of his somewhat elusive character is revealed during
this book. Nate's background is delved into a bit and I
learned far more about the supposed convict than I expected.
I loved this fast-paced story. Just like the title, FORCE OF
NATURE is impossible to put
down and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the
bitter end. The characters feel so real and I couldn't help
but become attached to them. FORCE OF NATURE provides a
different look into Nate's background that will have the
reader waiting in anticipation for the next in the series.
He never wanted to tell Joe Pickett about it, but Nate
Romanowski always knew trouble was coming out of his past.
Now it's here, and it may not only be the battle of his
life-but of Joe's.
In 1995, Nate was in a secret Special Forces unit abroad
when a colleague did something terrible. Now high up in the
government, the man is determined to eliminate anyone who
knows about it, and Nate knows exactly how he'll do it-by
striking at Nate's friends to draw him out. The entire
Pickett family will be a target, and the only way to fight
back is outside the law. Nate knows he can do it, but he
isn't sure about his straight-arrow friend-and all their
lives could depend on it.
