Paranormal Thriller

As the chilly evening darkens into night, the hunter alone in the freezing woodlands of Minnesota was fearful that he might lose his ability to track the wounded deer... yet, never did he realize that there were things more fearful and far more frightening than that!

When the murdered body of a young teenage pregnant girl turns out to be none other than United States Senator Magnus Dunton's daughter, FBI Agent Tony Garcia is called in to investigate. He knows that he needs one of his top agents, Bernadette Saint Clare, to investigate with him.

Bern has a special talent that she carefully tries to hide both to protect herself and her professional role. In addition to be a terrific and observant FBI Agent, Bern can also sometimes help deduct where and how a crime is committed by touching an object handled by a murderer and then seeing things from that person's eyes. Yet, this case turns out to be quite different and is much harder on her that before. What caused this to happen? Will this change how she sees the real world?

As the agents conduct their investigation and tension builds along with the body count, Bernadette thinks finding out more about an old case with some similarities might help. When she goes to another town to check the old case out, things shift very rapidly and jeopardy strikes. With all the lies, who can be trusted?

While absolutely a terrific read as a stand-alone book, fans , both old and new, will be thrilled with this third book by Terri Persons featuring her wonderfully intriguing FBI Agent Bernadette Saint Clare. I truly hope there will be many more! With her knowledge of Minnesota and the vagrancies of winter and its effects on crime detection, Persons instantly plugs you into the action and you just want to hang in there for dear life to find out what happens next. The storyline is strong and descriptions of characters and scenes are so authentic, it is easy to visualize the action as if it is happening right in front of you. I especially liked the way Persons shifts and shapes the emotional tension and attraction between Garcia and Saint Clare as they move back and forth between dealing with the situations they face and its impact on each other. Thriller and crime fans definitely need to have BLIND SIGHT starred on their must read list! Don't miss it!

SUMMARY

"Persons has shattered the thriller mold." --John SandfordA deer hunter tracking his wounded prey through the Minnesota woods gets much more than he bargained for when he makes the grisly discovery of a young girl's body. The condition of the corpse is shocking: The girl had been pregnant, but the fetus was removed from her womb and an inverted pentagram drawn on her forehead. After the girl is identified as the daughter of a high-powered Senator, the FBI is called in to find the murderer--and the missing baby. The case becomes increasingly complex as Bernadette and Tony's personal relationship heats up, and the investigation is hampered by the many lies that lead them on a circuitous--and deadly-- route to the truth. Through dogged police work and Bernadette's unique powers of second sight, they close in on the killers on a frigid night in the snowy woods in an effort to save the tiny victim of the toughest crime they've ever solved.
