Captain Emily Beale is a rarity in her line of work as a
SOAR (Special Operation Aviation Regiment) pilot flying a
Black Hawk with the Night Stalkers. As the only female
gaining respect and holding it is always a challenge
especially when flying with the best. Frustration with
whoever allows CNN to follow Emily for a day is at an all
time high since all the TV crew focuses on is her appearance
which is very 'girl next door' and the fact Emily can very
easily be a world renowned Chef. Dangerous and impossible
missions is Emily's forte, she doesn't want to do anything
else. Thanks to CNN a reassignment letter arrives at her
post very clock and dagger, upsetting her crew and CO
(Commanding Officer) Major Mark Henderson. Emily's new
assignment is confusing at best, instead flying helicopters
in combat, Emily is working for the First Lady of the U.S.
Emily has no issue doing a favor for a friend who knows how
to pull strings but she is not ready for the past and
betrayal of trust to take such a foot hold in her near
future.
Major Mark "Viper" Henderson fell in love with Captain Emily
Beale almost the moment he met her and not just because she
is the best helicopter pilot around, other than himself of
course. Unfortunately the differences of their ranks,
Captain vs Major, Mark is unable to indulge himself with
Emily so he over compensates with little to no compliments
pushing Emily to always fly at her best and stay safe. Mark
is shocked thinking he pushed Emily to seek a transfer but
seeing Emily upset about a reassignment letter Mark
immediately becomes concerned that something is not what it
seems. Mark's curiosity at why Uncle Sam feels it is
necessary to remove Emily from flying is mind boggling, he
no choice but to check out the situation himself.
What a pleasant surprise THE NIGHT IS MINE is. Honestly, at
first I had no idea who the author is, I just knew the cover
is great. As I started reading, I noticed the military
detail is so exciting and believable my first thought is ML
Buchman must be a guy, then the character building with such
strong emotional connection and scorching chemistry is
before me and I just didn't know. THE NIGHT IS MINE is one
of the most exciting Military Romantic Suspense that I have
ever read. I was on the edge of my seat during every action
scene. This is a must read, don't miss it.
First in a thrilling military romantic suspense series based on the real-life elite helicopter pilots who transport Navy SEALs and Delta Force teams in and out of combat and covert missions. (SOAR are the heroes of Black Hawk Down.) Buchman’s heroine flies the most dangerous military ops and tries to find the one man who can be a hero in her own life. Ace-pilot Captain Emily Beale goes undercover as bodyguard to the First Lady, with her rugged commander, Major Mark Henderson, who is determined to cover her back. Can she learn to keep her desire at bay before her covert mission implodes?
