Zafira, Queen of the Fey, gives a task to her fairie
handmaid, Kaia Verde. Kaia returns to Florida for the sole
purpose of seducing and stealing the heart of Garrett
Jameson, to punish and humiliate him. Returning to Faeria
after sensational sex at the hotel with Garrett, she leaves
him with a whopping $5,000 bill. Losing her heart instead,
Queen Zafira takes away her wings and magic and sends Kaia
back as a human, void of anything other than a driver's
license and $20 cash. Kaia has 5 weeks, to Solstice, to
complete her original mission or a drastic fate awaits her.
Smelly and hungry Kaia finds her way to the Good Samaritan
Mission and finagles a job at the flower shop from Garrett's
best friend's fiancée, Rachel. She works hard to better her
living arrangement while wheedling her way into Garrett's
life again. Untrusting but completely fascinated with Kaia,
Garrett becomes heavily involved and loses his heart, albeit
unknown to Kaia. She is taken back to Faeria, stripped of
all powers to face the Black Ladies. Garrett's niece, Lexi,
is lost and leads the family to the fairie ring where
Garrett, his stern grandmother and mother all enter into
Faeria. Because of Kaia's love for Garrett, she bargains to
sacrifice herself for the humans' lives.
RADIANT DESIRE, the first book in the Handmaid's Seduction
series, is fascinating with the fantasy, dreams and hopes of
both fairie and human. Chucked full of sex, love and
heartbreak Kaia does the forbidden, losing her own heart to
a human. I certainly hope I have the opportunity to read all
of the novels in this series. It is most entertaining and
extremely delightful.
The object of every man’s fantasy just lost her wings…
Kaia Verde is one of the four Faerie Handmaids of Zafira,
Queen of the Fey. To redress an
ancient wrong done to Zafira by a human king, the Handmaids
make sport of mortal men,
seducing and humiliating them. When Kaia sets out to seduce
Garrett Jameson, but ends up
being the one surrendering to pleasure, Zafira is furious.
Kaia’s punishment is simple: make
Garrett fall in love with her by the summer solstice, then
break his heart, or face eternity without
her wings—or her soul. To make the task harder, Zafira tells
Kaia she cannot use her faerie
magic or charm to lure Garrett into her bed.
…and now she’s losing her heart…
Kaia thinks her task will be relatively easy—as a faerie,
she understands lust, and can love be much different? But
once she is living among the humans, Kaia discovers the race
she once
disparaged is far more complex and beautiful than she
imagined. She learns before she can
break Garrett’s heart, she must find a way to heal it. And
eventually, discovers that losing her
wings may be a far easier price to pay than losing her heart.
