The recently released monsters, Civil and Red (those who
feed
on blood), are trying to figure out who is on what side, how
they should create a society, and life in the aftermath of
meeting their psychopathic creator. Mariah's powers, always
different, have magnified because of her connection to their
Origin, and her vampire lover, Gabriel, is coming to an age
where his humanity will be gone---and he will not even care.
To save themselves from the
repercussions of a murder, Gabriel and Mariah both flee.
What
will they discover back in the Bloodlands?
The Bloodlands Trilogy is a great series. It has such a
fantastic mix of horrific and dystopic elements, and the
character development is fantastic. The latest installment,
IN
BLOOD WE TRUST, keeps up the excellent reputation the
previous
two books developed. Up until the very end, the reader will
not be sure how the last page will pan out. A wonderful
series
for any reader who is willing to risk the Happy Ever After
ending.
They are monsters: Mariah, the reluctant rebel who has
become a god to others of her kind, and Gabriel, the
vampire, who loves her at his own peril.
They have returned to the Bloodlands, where their story
began-to face the horrors of Mariah's past and the
uncertainties of Gabriel's future- and to make a final
stand, for their lives-and their love.
