Nightshade is a high-level black-ops team of ex-military
men; assembled for top-secret covert operations and headed
up by a general they call "Old Man." Their office is in The
Shack, a warehouse on the Hudson River. As the six men of
Nightshade are getting ready to leave for the day, an
attack on the building takes them by surprise. One man is
shot, three are captured, but two escape. The four men
taken by these intruders are sent to various locations
across the continents and are to be executed for various
crimes.
There were seven men on the Nightshade team, but Griffin
Riddell is in a maximum security prison, wrongfully
accused, quickly tried and convicted of killing a US
Senator. The "Old Man" hires Kacie Whitcomb, aka Kazi
Faron, to break Riddell out of this prison so that together
they can rescue the other members of Nightshade before
their attacker puts them to death. The general also wants
the person or group behind this attack.
Kacie and Griffin are both highly trained black-ops
specialists, but they are both bullheaded control freaks
who want to get into each other's head and keep each other
off balance. As they travel to the West Bank to rescue the
first Nightshade member, Kacie is in control and will only
reveal the plan to Griffin as needed. This causes some
frustrating moments between them, but each of them sees
much of themselves in the other. Sometimes they don't like
what they see. Will their missions be successful to
reassemble the Nightshade team? Will they be able to find
the intruders and discover who is behind Nightshade being
attacked?
FIRETHORN is a riveting novel that traverses the globe from
Virginia to London, Venezuela, Cyprus and Uganda. It is
action-packed and will hold you captivated page after page.
This is the fourth and final book in Ronie Kendig's
Discarded Heroes series, but you don't have to have read
the other three stories to enjoy this one. Her page of
names and military terms at the beginning are a big help in
understanding who the characters are, their relationships
and what weapon they are packing. This story is written as
inspirational fiction. The characters are tough, but
express their faith in God to see them through the most
difficult situations. However, this novel can stand on the
shelves with the best on international espionage. I'm a fan!
Don your tactical gear and enter the world of black ops and
espionage within the pages of Ronie Kendig’s thriller
