Ready to dive into another winner from Pamela Clare? Set in
pre-Revolutionary American history, this novel will capture
the readers' attention within a few pages. Iain, the love
interest, has the three important H's covered-hot, heavy,
and handsome. The reader will love that he plays as arge a
part as the Annie in the story, unusual for a romance novel
where female characters tend to dominate.
Annie does take a while to warm up to Iain, who saved her
life. However, the story would not have been half as good
if she had fallen for his charms immediately. Annie is not
as trusting as some of Clare's previous heroines. She has
however earn that right though past experiences. Annie has
a complex character; the reader will sympathize with her and
her past throughout the novel. She can be quite caring and
funny too.
The love scenes, always an important portion of a romance
novel, were amazing. They were believable and steamy.
Annie and Iain are clearly in love. Annie's innocence
combined with Iain's almost animal need will provide for a
great love story for the reader. The realistic love between
Annie and Iain is endearing.
As the first book in a new series, SURRENDER sets the
atmsophere for a wonderful frontier trilogy with a taste of
Scottish heritage. You will fall for the MacKinnon brothers
instantely and beg for the next installment. Between the
charismatic love interest, steamy love scenes, and action
this novel is the ideal love story.
A hand-picked cadre of warriors, they had the fierce
courage of their Scots forefathers, combined with the
stealth and cunning of the Indians who lived beside them in
the wilderness. Battling the French in no-holds-barred
combat, they forged a new brand of honor, became a new
breed of men…
MacKinnon’s Rangers
Iain MacKinnon had been forced to serve the British crown,
but compassion urged him to save the lovely lass facing
certain death at the hands of the Abenaki. He’d defied his
orders, endangered his brothers, his men and his mission,
all for a woman. But when he held Annie’s sweet body in his
arms, he could feel no regret. Though he sensed she was
hiding something from him, it was too late to hold back his
heart. In love and war, there are times when the only
course of action is… Surrender.
