For seven hundred years Christien Chevalier has stood
beside the treasure and kept the world safe from the
apocalypse. For seven hundred years he has mourned the loss
of his one true love, Madelaine de Flandres. Madelaine was
the one woman that he could not save. Christien has
protected and hidden the treasure of the Templar Knights
despite his heartache and he will continue to stand strong
until the key can be found and hidden away too. Little did
Christien know that the key to opening the seals that would
begin the apocalypse would not come in the form of metal,
but in the shapely form of his love resurrected back to
life.
Madelaine Alexander just landed the job of her life. She
now has enough money to keep her father in his nursing home
and keep herself off the streets. If she can keep her mouth
shut at work. Her new boss, Giselle is a witch. What part
of HR equals being an errand girl? Now she has been sent on
an errand that has nothing to do with her position and
straight into the arms of a very wealthy and very sexy
nightclub owner. Christian Chevalier is more than just
another hot guy, from the first time she met him he has
been haunting her dreams. Dreams that have been as
terrifying as they have been happy; that make Lainie fear
that she is losing her mind. How can a dream be so real?
How can a girl fall in love with a man that she just met?
This book was as dynamic as it was romantic. I loved the
way that author Sharon Cullen weaved the dreams into the
story. Mixing the past with the present is always tricky,
and Cullen did not make any mistakes. I thought that the
story flowed along perfectly. I fell in love with Christien
and felt for his plight. He suffered a great loss and
stumbled his way through to Lainie's heart. I was very
happy with the fact that he wasn't just Mr. Perfect as so
many leading men are portrayed. He made mistakes, he took
matters into his own hands, and he messed things up again.
I found this real to life quality gave his character true
depth that he otherwise might have been lacking. Lainie was
a fantastic heroine. She was strong enough not to bend to
Christien's will; yet she was also in a very strange
situation. Cullen also wrote her to be a real woman and not
just another love story bimbo without a brain. I was
absolutely fascinated with the legend of the Templar
treasure. All my questions were definitely not answered by
the end of the book and I am hoping for sequel to set that
to rights. From the beginning to its unquestionably
stunning conclusion HER DARK KNIGHT is a book to remember!
Madelaine Alexander is on a mission. When her boss sends her
to the hottest nightclub in town to meet with the owner, she
won't be deterred, even if that means standing in line for
fifty-eight minutes in torturous heels while she'd rather be
home in her pj's with a bowl of popcorn.
A Knight of the Templar, Christien Chevalier was given
immortality along with the responsibility of protecting the
treasure of the Templars. He's been unwavering in his task
for centuries until his one true love—who died seven hundred
years ago—shows up in his club, demanding his attention.
Christien couldn't protect Madelaine when they first fell in
love. She was married to a lord and he was simply a knight.
Now, through some unknown miracle, she stands before him
again and they have a second chance. But Christien fears
that Madelaine is being used as a pawn in a dangerous game,
a game of good versus evil that could affect all of mankind...
