Heather Killough-Walden's Lost Angels series is about four
archangels who fall to Earth to find their soul mates known
as archesses that were created specifically for them as a
reward for their loyalty. But before the angels could claim
their mates, the archesses were scattered on Earth and lost.
AVENGER's ANGEL is about Uriel, the former Angel of
Vengeance. Uriel now goes by Christopher Daniels, big screen
heartthrob. He's on his way to a book signing and meets,
Ellie Granger. Uriel is stunned because Eleanore is his
missing archess. He asks her out and she refuses. Ellie
can't be in the limelight because she's in hiding from a
secret group of men who want her for her special abilities.
Around the time Uriel finds Ellie, another fallen angel
named Samael does also. Samael was never given his own
archess, so instead he'll take Ellie for his own.
Things start out with a bang in AVENGER'S ANGEL, but as the
story moves along, more questions pop up that don't have any
valid answers. If Ellie has spent years on the run, why
doesn't she have an alias? She uses her real name. Also, the
secondary story with her seems out of place in a novel like
this. Some readers may also have an issue with the fact that
Ellie's sole purpose is to serve Uriel. She was made with
the intent to be owned by him and she really doesn't have any
say in the matter.
AVENGER'S ANGEL is easy to follow and the characters'
personalities stand out, mainly with the villain, Samael.
Those who enjoy gorgeous fallen angel men in search of their
female counterparts will want to pick this one up.
When four female angels were created for the archangels Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Azrael, a chaos spurned by jealousy erupted, and the archesses were secreted to Earth. The four favored archangels followed, prompting a search that has last millennia. But for Uriel, the former Archangel of vengeance, the search ends the moment he lays eyes on Eleanor Granger, his one true arches. Can he protect her from the danger lying in wait for her-and win her heart?
