Single mother Autumn Cole makes the decision to return to
her small hometown in Washington after loosing her job gives
her a
strong basic need to return to her roots. Autumn is
determined to start over regardless of the fact that her
father is known
as the town drunk, she has overcome worse. Autumn's first
line of business is to get her 12-year-old son, Elliott,
situated in his new school which she completely understands
will be difficult for him. Elliott is used to electronics
and fashion but now he is in a foreign location where jeans
and the simple life are normal. Autumn, never in a million
years thinks that on Elliott's first day of school will
bring her past smashing into the now. Her sons teacher,
Henry Tobler, is the one Autumn let get away or the one she
ran away from but he is here in the flesh, in her hometown
once again setting her world on full tilt.
Henry Tobler is not sure whether he should be angry or
surprised that the one woman he loved and lost just walked
into his classroom with his new student or just strangle her
for leaving him all those years ago. All of those thoughts
are taken away when she realizes who he is and slams him in
the face with a book, literally. Henry had no idea that the
small town he now calls home is the hometown of Autumn Cole,
the same woman he lost his heart to in college. His only
option is to deal with his issues with the situation while
teaching her son and seeing her around every corner. Old
feelings come to the surface creating questions about the
past, complicating his life forcing Henry to face the fact
that he still may love Autumn regardless of it all.

characters tackling issues of small town gossip and broken
pasts. Definitely a feel good read!
