Rich Timm thought spending time hunting in Virgin
River with Marine buddies was a great idea but not all was
what it seemed. For one, his twin sister Becca was coming
along -- totally uninvited, unexpected, and if truth be told
unwelcome especially considering that one of the buddies
was Denny -- Becca's ex-boyfriend. The break up hadn't been
easy on either Denny or Becca; in fact, it was rather brutal
and left Becca's family with harsh feelings toward Denny.
Now Becca was at a crossroads in her life. Her new
boyfriend Doug was definitely moving in a direction she
wasn't ready for now or, if honest with herself, ever. Even
after their breakup three years ago, Denny was
still an integral part of Becca's thoughts and perhaps this
impromptu visit would finally lay to rest any errant dreams
of a future together. If Denny had moved on with his life
then Becca would have to do the same.
Her irst impression of Virgin River really surprised her. It
was a little old town with not much going on -- so why had
Denny settled here after his military discharge? He had
actually come here looking for his roots but wound up with
friends who were his new family and life couldn't be
better. Well except now it seems someone threw a monkey
wrench in all his plans for a week long hunting vacation.
Becca was truly a duck out of water with hunting and fly
fishing on the agenda. She was more the sand and surf kind
of gal. They both were still confused and angry over
their separation and breakup but neither one considered that
they had been just too young, just
nineteen. Becca hadn't yet begun her career as a teacher
and Denny was facing personal demons of his own when life
seemed to get in the way. All that remained was a big hole
in each of their lives. Maybe during this weekend that hole
could be mended, all forgiven, and they could finally move
on. But the more time the spent together, the less it
seemed that Becca and Denny were really ready for a
final goodbye. Denny immediately stepped up as protector
and caregiver when Becca needed him. The cuter and more
adorable Becca was with the guys the more he just wanted to
shake her. Well if any couples relationship needed a good
shaking it was theirs and hopefully this hunting trip could
be the catalyst for a happy ending. And let's not forget
that Virgin River is the place where new beginnings are
made.
All right I'm a hopeless romantic -- that must be why I am
first and foremost a huge fan of Robyn Carr but secondly I
am hooked on Virgin River and its growing population of
intriguing characters. This is billed as a Christmas story
but it is actually more about second chances.
This year, Becca Timm knows the number one item on her
Christmas wish list—getting over Denny Cutler. Three years
ago, Denny broke her heart before heading off to war. It's
time she got over her silly high-school relationship and
moved on.
So she takes matters into her own hands and heads up to
Virgin River, the rugged little mountain town that Denny
calls home, as an uninvited guest on her brother's men-only
hunting weekend. But when an accident turns her impromptu
visit into an extended stay, Becca finds herself stranded in
Virgin River. With Denny. In very close quarters.
As the power of Christmas envelops the little town, Becca
discovers that the boy she once loved has become a strong
and confident man. And the most delicious Christmas present
she can imagine.
