Rosie knows what it is like to survive, and she lives with
quite a few secrets. Her roommates, on the other hand,
have probably never had to face anything truly scary in
their lives. Rosie can get along with Louisa, whereas
Maddie gets on her nerves, and Evelyn sees conspiracies
everywhere. Her parents sent her to the Country Manor
School to keep her safe from the war, and she enjoyed not
having to hide for a change. Is being normal too much to
ask for? What could happen at a school sheltered from the
outside world?
Rosie, Louisa, Maddie, and Evelyn should be safely tucked
in their beds at their boarding school. Instead, they are
using the darkness of night to make their escape. It seems
the boarding school is really a part of the Alliance, the
bad guys. The children are just pawns of a larger and much
more sinister plot. Rosie knows a thing or two about
staying alive, but it is the other girls with her that are
going to be a problem. Will they be able to escape the
clutches of the teachers? How long will it take them to
reach safety?
Eva Gray creates a decidedly daunting new world where
everyone learns to provide for themselves. Rosie and the
girls may be running from a known danger, but unknown
horrors await them on their journey home. Their path
contains many obstacles and with a little teamwork and
resourcefulness they steer clear of most trouble. I was
cheering on the girls as they raced for their lives. RUN
FOR COVER is a fast paced read that captures readers from
the beginning, leads them on a thrilling trouble ridden
excursion, and keeps them hanging for what happens next.
Ms. Gray has written a rousing and inspiring young adult
novel that will appeal to the masses. I cannot wait to
find out what happens to the girls next.
In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each
other if they want to survive.
Now that best friends Louisa, Rosie, Evelyn, and Maddie know
the truth -- or at least the danger they're in -- the girls
have run away from their "safe" country retreat. But life is
riskier than ever, and Rosie still doesn't know who she can
trust.
Rosie's survival skills are top-notch. But how well can she
keep her own secrets?
