The Civil War is taking place all over again in the gardens
of Marshfield Manor! Well, not exactly -- it's only a group
of Civil War re-enactors who have come to hold their very
realistic skirmish. The group seems very genuine trying to
keep the camp as true to the era as possible, but the fun
comes to an end when one of the re-enactors, Zach Kinkade,
is found stabbed to death.
It falls upon Grace Wheaton, caretaker of the Manor, to
find out who had it in for the military actor, and boy,
does she find a bevy of suspects to choose from. Was it the
bride he left at the altar, or her friends who have come to
avenge her disgrace? Or was it one of the Manor's own
employees? With her usual calm style and dignity, Grace
works quickly to try to solve this new war before someone
else takes a fall for the cause!
In her second novel in her Manor House Mystery series,
GRACE INTERRUPTED, author Julie Hyzy once again treats her
readers to a fabulously fun and deliciously thrilling
mystery. Hyzy's characters are lively and entertaining, and
her plotlines move along at a brisk pace, with plenty of
twists and turns to satisfy the most ardent fan of cozy
mysteries. I highly recommend this series to anyone who
enjoys a dab of history, and a whole lot of spirited fun in
their novels.
