Lynn Kurland's novels are just ridiculously good. They're
like popcorn, but more substantial. Lynn Kurland's novels
are like a pan of warm, gooey, chocolate brownies. ONE MAGIC
MOMENT is no different. For readers who are already
fans of her excellent romances depicting various time-
traveling characters and those who fall in love with them,
ONE MAGIC MOMENT is another funny and lovely work that
incorporates or alludes to some of the characters from
previous works.
For novices in the Kurlandsphere, ONE MAGIC MOMENT is as
excellent an introduction as any other: Tess
Alexander lives in a restored castle, but she can't really
enjoy it because she is still dealing with never seeing her
sister again because her sister has traveled back in time
to stay with the man she loves. However, when she meets---
and keeps meeting---John de Piaget, she's pretty sure she's
meeting someone like her brother-in-law, another refugee
from the past. As they try to sort out their mutual
attraction to, and irritation with, each other, their
futures are being threatened.
A solid, well-written tale, ONE MAGIC MOMENT is a wonderful
book and might encourage
one to read all of the rest of Kurland's works. She keeps
her works new by continuing to infuse each with humor as
well as sincerity.
Medieval studies scholar Tess Alexander is thrilled for the
chance to live in a medieval castle. But then a trip to the
village brings her face-to-face with the owner of the local
garage, who looks a great deal like the man who married her
sister...800 years in the past. She's determined to remain
objective about magic and destiny, but she can't help
wondering about that mysterious, sword-wielding mechanic.
