Tattoo artist Riley Poe didn't expect her life to be quite
this exciting. Riley's learned to control most of her
rapidly-increasing vampiric tendencies after being attacked
by rogue vampires, now she has to deal with a double whammy:
not only does Victorian, one of her attackers, whisper
sweet nothings in her mind, she can also feel the moment
another vampire commits murder. That her mind keeps being
violated drives her vampire lover, Eli, mad with jealousy,
and they have to deal with how to connect amidst the
constantly escalating strangeness. Of course, Riley and her
companions have to get involved in a vampire-vs-humans
fight club to find out more information.
EVERDARK is a cool
book. The relationships among the friends, family members,
and lovers are well-drawn. In addition, the strong thread
of the importance of companionship weaves throughout the
narrative; characters may want to be strong alone, but they
are even stronger when they are supported by those they
love. Pick up this book!
Tattoo artist Riley Poe thought she knew the shady side of
Savannah—until her brother was taken by a cult of vampires.
Allying herself with hot-blooded vampire Eli Dupré, she got
her brother back. But her courage—and her one-of-a-kind
blood type—made her an irresistible temptation for some very
bad bloodsuckers.
After barely surviving an ambush by enemy undead, she has
inherited certain traits of her attackers: heightened
senses, lightning reflexes, unreal strength. Eli trains
Riley to use her new vampiric tendencies, teaching her
control and skills she’s never imagined needing. But when a
new trait—a telepathic link with a rampaging
vampire—manifests itself, Riley knows she has to put her new
skills to the test to stop the killer before he strikes again.
Long used to taking care of herself, Riley has trouble
asking for help, even from the powerful vampire she loves....
