Since the day FBI agent Lily Yu met Rule Turner, her life
has been turned upside down. First, it was the murders with
Rule as the prime suspect that brought them together. Now,
it's the mate bond that ties them together for the rest of
their lives. Rule's insistence that they move in together
has Lily dragging her feet. What do they really know of
each other? She knows he's a Lupi, the prince of his clan,
and that he has a strong physical desire for her. Rule
feels learning about each other will come in time, but his
desire is not just to have her physically. He also must
protect her and what better way than to have her in the
same home.
While at her sister's wedding, Lily is sure she sees Helen,
a woman she killed three weeks earlier. This can't be
possible, so she follows her into the restroom. That's
where Rule finds Lily unconscious on the floor. At the
hospital, it's thought that Lily has been possessed by
demons, which is impossible since she's a sensitive. This
sets the stage for Rule and Lily to believe that something
dangerous is about to happen -- but what and when?
Then something does occur, and Lily's sensitive form and
Rule's wolf form are literally taken to Hell. While there,
they have to figure out exactly what's happened and how
they are going to return home.
This sequel to TEMPTING DANGER will have you sitting on the
edge of your seat, biting your nails as the tale unfolds --
just like with the first one. I loved the characters and
see several possible stories that I'd enjoy reading in the
future. Definitely a series I suggest everyone read.
Many things have changed in Lily Yu’s life in the month
since she met Rule Turner, but one thing remains: she’s a
cop. Maybe her badge in federal now instead of city.
Maybe her beat includes the entire country, and the Gift
she’d always hidden is now public knowledge. But she still
goes after the bad guys.
What happens when the bad guys aren’t of this world? When
they can go elsewhere, to realms it’s purely illegal to
contact, much less attempt to cross into?
What happens when duty and love demand opposing actions--
when it’s impossible to follow one without utterly
betraying the other? When you know, deep in your soul,
where the lines are . . . and have to cross them anyway?
