Jumping in too quickly has always been a fault of
Kerrick's. This time his leaping before looking has him in
the role of Harvester without knowing just what it entails;
which in turn has him refusing to train and at a loss in
the palace. Little by little he gains the knowledge
of just what he has agreed to and realizes that trying to
get back at his father seems to have gotten him into a
lot of trouble. Yet, from the first time he meets Ariss he
knows that there is something between them. Will love be
enough for the two or will it be denied?
Right from the start this author knows how to pull you in.
I enjoyed going back and visiting this world full of gods
and magic but ruled by sex. Kerrick may be an impulsive man,
always jumping into things without looking, but he has a
good heart. Ariss is a strong woman who can stand on her
own and fights for what she loves. The two make a wonderful
couple. Always doing everything with love, never making the
decisions out of hate. Watching the two find each other and
face not only one but two gods for the right to their love
was a great read. Not only do we get to see Kerrick and
Ariss's relationship bloom but we also get to watch each one
separately find themselves. I enjoyed seeing Chur and
Sterlave in this book as well. I enjoyed the way that they
are still incorporated into the storyline and having them
still around makes reading this series like visiting old
friends.
