This is an excellent book! Yes, it's got vampires, angels,
creepy monsters (of the human and paranormal variety), and
other hallmarks of the current paranormal craze, but the
world is also intricately developed and interesting.
Although her Archangel and lover, Raphael, saved Elena from
death, not by turning her into a vampire, but by Making her
into an Angel with a mortal heart, the echoes of her past
continue to haunt her. A Guild Hunter who tracks criminals
based on their individual combinations of scents, Elena has
to fight fear and her memories when it seems her half-
sisters are targeted at their school. While Elena has to
deal with a frustratingly alive father and the echoes of
her mother's suicide, Raphael fears his own mother may be
waking...waking and insane, a situation that might destroy
the world.
Steamy and beautiful, ARCHANGEL'S CONSORT is a great novel
that makes me want to read everything that Nalini
Singh has ever written.
Nalini Singh steps back into the shadows of her "heart-
breakingly orginal" world where angels rule, vampires
serve, and the innocent can pay the greatest price of
all...
Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally
beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New
York only to face an uncompromising new evil...
A vampire has attacked a girls' school - the assault one
of sheer, vicious madness - and it is only the first act.
Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening
to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself
begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as
inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth
itself shudders.
The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear.
An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent
winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to
reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her
way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed.
