When Hugh asks his sister to make a list of eligible ladies she decides to throw a party instead and invite them for Hugh to meet in hopes he will find his future wife. Among the guests is the young lady who is the "it" debutant of the year, Gwendolyn Passmore, whom Hugh finds himself attracted. Would she make a good wife to the horse-mad Earl or will someone else draw her attention?
Also on the list of eligible ladies is Katherine Peyton who lost her heart years ago to another of the guests. Can Hugh change her mind (not that he really cares if he has his future bride's heart or not)?
The last of the ladies is Lady Georgina Sorrell the widowed friend of Hugh's sister who has sworn she would never marry again. Besides, Hugh has always thought of her as a sister, hasn't he?
As the party progresses, and with an equal number of gentlemen present, Hugh better not waste too much time finding the one who will lead him to the alter. Will he chose for convenience or love?
THE LADY MOST LIKELY is a book written by three authors in three parts but you will not be able to tell who wrote which parts and I loved it. It was a continuous flow of three men and three women who are brought together not knowing that they will find their true loves. Each lady has her own tale but it becomes three love stories that come to one conclusion. This was a first for me, to read a book written in this format, and I really hope to see more books done this way, it shows how well the authors work together to create an amazing story. What also makes it fun is that you never know which author wrote which part of the book. To bring three wonderful authors such as Ms. Quinn, Ms. James and Ms. Brockway together was pure genius.
Three of the brightest stars of historical romance invite
you to a party at the country home of the Honorable Marquess
of Finchley
Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife, so his sister
hands him a list of delectable damsels and promises to
invite them--and a few other gentlemen--to her country house
for what is sure to be the event of the season.
Hugh will have time to woo whichever lady he most desires...
Unless someone else snatches her first.
The invitation list includes:
The horse-mad but irresistibly handsome Earl of
Briarly
The always outspoken Miss Katherine Peyton
The dashing war hero captain Neill Oakes
The impossibly beautiful (and painfully shy) Miss Gwendolyn
Passmore
The terribly eligible new Earl of Charters
The widowed Lady Georgina Sorrell (who has no plans to
marry, ever)
And your hostess, Lady Carolyn Finchley, an irrepressible
matchmaker who plans to find the lady most likely...to
capture her brother's untamed heart.
