Shy and wounded Bettina goes to Santa Barbara to join her
on-line writers' group for a summer of writing on the beach.
Though she considers them friends, Bettina has never met
them. While she's nervous, she's determined to shake-up her
comfortable but solitary life. It's time to push herself out
of her comfort zone and explore the world.
The writer's group includes former punk rock singer (and
Bettina closest friend in the group) Viviane, honest and
talented Patrice, and artistic Kenneth. Then there is
beautiful, flirtatious Audrey. Bettina can't stop thinking
about her and, surprisingly, wanting her. Her passionate
and unexpected relationship with Audrey leads her to Jack, a
man who stirs her mind, body, and heart.
In THE LOVERS, Ms. Bradley has crafted a beautifully written
and sensual novel in which every word feels like caress. I
expect overt sexuality in an erotic novel, and Ms. Bradley
delivers in very creative ways. However, what stood out to
me was a lyrical writing style that made me feel the touch
on my skin, the sand between my toes, and breeze in my hair.
I definitely look forward to reading more of Ms. Bradley's
work.
