The three stories in CUPID CATS each brought a smile to this
readers face. Each author wrote a unique
story involving love and cats. Whether you like the
supernatural or just a sweet story, there is something to
satisfy everyone in this book.
The first story, Unleased, is a supernatural in which fans
of Katie MacAlister are treated to a Dark Ones story.
Jacintha, a wildlife officer, goes to a shelter to
investigate a case. There she finds Avery Scott, a Dark One
who is in the form of a large cat. Not only does Jacintha
deal with her case but she must also come to terms with her
feelings for Avery. This was a fun story, as are all of
Katie Macalister's books. I loved the debate about the
panther that is carried throughout the story.
The second story, Cat Scratch Fever, tells us
of a widower who takes his little girl to a shelter to
adopt a cat. The little girl decides she wants an elderly
cat and the fun begins from there. Jim finds Edith
volunteering at the shelter. As the reader falls in love
with the little girl, we watch as she and the cat bring
Edith and Jim together making this a sweet and
emotion-filled read.
In the last story, A Cat's Game, actor Jon is in need of a
vacation and heads off to a bed and breakfast. Once he is
there, he finds it being managed by his old high school
girlfriend, Kate. Her just adopted cat, Darwin, works his
own magic in getting these two together. This was a nice
story with great characters and an endearing ending.
All in all, this was a fast paced and charming book wrapped
around the magic of felines and love. If you enjoy
both, you should definitely read this book.
