Annie and Max Darling are throwing a party, and in a gesture of friendship Annie extends an invitation to new-in- town Iris Tilford, setting in motion a domino effect of events of shocking proportions. DARE TO DIE by Carolyn Hart is a comfy-feeling cozy that turns chilling as the Darlings come to realize the murderer is someone they know, and almost no one in their tight-knit community is above suspicion. Populated with eccentric characters (I particularly enjoyed local celebrity, author Emma Clyde!) and written in a style that gave me a sense of watching a movie unfold in my head, DARE TO DIE is a most excellent read!
