Daniel Kane, successful owner of Kane Construction in San
Francisco, lacks the ability to love or be loved. His
mother died with a multitude of secrets regarding his true
heritage. His unstable childhood and uncertainty of the
identity of his real father has left Daniel bitter and
angry. Then he's surprised to learn he has a young son
with Rebecca Ballard, who's been on his mind since their
breakup.
Upon finding he's a father, as well as discovering newfound
siblings, Daniel must re-evaluate his own worth and his
true feelings where Rebecca is involved. Endeavoring to
understand the puzzle of his mother's love life and the
impact it had on him, Daniel strives to overcome his
unhappy childhood and lack of love. Determined his son will
grow up knowing who his father is, Daniel searches for love
and peace within himself.
A MOTHER'S SECRET is a tender and touching story beginning
with an unloved child who, as an adult, believes love is
only a word. Loving another is not on his agenda, until he
discovers he has a son of his own. The characters are very
believable people with real pain and sorrow as they attempt
to overcome their pasts. I intend to search out more
stories by this author.
Seems history has a nasty way of repeating itself for
Daniel Kane. It's bad enough his mother harbored a secret
about his heritage. Now his ex-girlfriend Rebecca Ballard
is trying to do the same thing! Not on his watch.
His son is going to know who his father is.
But to
give his child the future he deserves, Daniel has to make
nice with Rebecca. That he can do. But he's not so sure he
can forgive her for keeping their child a secret. Funny
thing happens, though. Spending all that time with the pair
makes him realize he might still care for her….
