Emma Grant has been spoiled. Brought up by parents who
adored her and weren't embarrassed to show their love for
each other gave Emma the goal to find the same kind of love.
Hopelessly romantic she dreamed of how the love of her life
would come to her and dance with her in her garden. It was
the perfect place for love and she was not going to accept
anything less. No settling for second best for Emma so when
she started spending more and more time with Jack Cooke, who
for so many years was considered almost family, her friends
were there to support her but at the same time ready to
catch her when the commitment phobic Jack let her down. And
they were pretty certain it was just a matter of time. Emma
didn't sit around waiting for love her life and career were
just cram packed with it. Emma was part of a quartet of
lifelong friends who built a remarkable business called
Vows. Vows put on every bride and grooms dream of their
wedding. Each of the four partners had specific talents and
fulfilled a unique requirement for a successful wedding.
Emma's special task was anything floral. Working up
magnificent bouquets and arrangement seems tailor made for a
romantic and working day in and day out with couples in love
has only made Emma more determined. But although Jack is
clearly devoted to Emma and the relationship they currently
enjoy he perhaps subconsciously has kept Emma from
encroaching his space. And it is just a matter of time until
she realizes Jack may never be the one.
If you have a daughter you will find yourself smiling and/or
tearing up. It's impossible to choose a favorite part of
this book or for that matter a favorite person. As you
journey through the current wedding adventure you view the
wedding through the eyes of these four best friends. As
individuals they are women you would love to have as a
friend - as a group they are a force to reckon with on any
level. Weddings should be magical and special - Nora Roberts
keeps that illusion alive and well in the quartet of books
revolving around Vows.
At first I thought how sappy -- a series of books about
around a quartet of best friends for life. Then I became so
involved with these young women that I actually felt my eyes
well up with tears as one of them tried on a wedding dress.
I am instantly brought into the story -- kind of an extended
character -- and realized the genius of Nora Roberts once
again. This is the second of the series. I can't wait for
number three. If you are planning a wedding be sure to take
notes.
Since she was a little girl, Emma Grant has always loved
romance. So it’s really no surprise that she has found her
calling as a wedding florist. She gets to play with flowers
every day and work with her three best friends in the
process. She couldn’t ask for a better job…
And on
the surface, Emma’s love life seems to be thriving. Slim and
sultry, she brings color into every room she enters, just
like the arrangements she creates. Though men swarm around
her, she still hasn’t found Mr. Right. And the last place
she’s looking is right under her nose.
But that’s
just where Jack Cooke is. He’s been best friends with
Parker’s brother for years, which makes him practically
family. But the architect has begun to admit to himself that
his feelings for Emma have developed into much more than
friendship. And when Emma returns his passion—kiss for
blistering kiss—things start to get complicated at Vows.
Jack has never been big on commitment. Emma yearns
for a lifelong love affair. And if the two are to find
common ground, they must trust in their history—and in their
hearts…
