Allie Morgan has traveled all the way from North Carolina to
the Northwest coast of Scotland to get rid of a few ghosts
that are haunting a pub owned by Gabe MacGowen. Allie is
able to see these spirits and communicate with them as well.
She uses her skills and gets paid for it by people who don't
want their homes and businesses haunted. Allie will go to
Scotland along with her own ghost Dauber who is very
protective of her.
Gabe is sick and tired of these ghosts who haunted his pub.
They have always been around, even when he was a small boy,
but because he wants to sell the property and leave with his
young son, Jake to parts unknown, he has no choice but to
call in a ghost buster. There are too many unfortunate
memories, especially of his dead wife who comes to him at
night in his dreams. He feels guilty for her death and the
fact that he never really loved her as he should. He hopes
the American Allie Morgan can eliminate these unruly ghosts
as well as the curse that he feels surrounds him.
Allie is in for a surprise because Gabe's ghosts are a
lovely bunch who are very caring for Gabe and Jake. They
have no inclination of ever leaving and will do whatever
they can to scare any buyer Gabe brings to the pub. Allie
thinks the ghosts are great, but Gabe is so dead set against
them. She can see he is in pain and wants to help him get
pass his own personal ghosts. Allie will take it upon
herself, with a little bit of help from her new friends to
change Gabe's mind, even if it means falling for him in the
process.
MAC GOWAN'S GHOST is a lighthearted read that Cindy Miles
fans will not want to pass up. There is some slapstick humor
that is amusing, more so from the ghosts who haunt Gabe's
pub if anything. The townspeople are also a caring group who
enjoy Gabe's ghosts. They welcome Allie with open arms.
Allie is one woman who brings smiles and joy wherever she
goes and it doesn't matter if those affected by her charms
are dead or alive.
Gabe is a typical broody Scot who is so stubborn in his
thinking. When Allie enters into his life, he is thrown off
center. At first he acts if he is annoyed by her presence
but then she eases herself into his heart to the point he
doesn't want her to leave him when her work is finished.
An overall humorous tale of ghosts and love in the
Highlands, MAC GOWAN'S GHOST will bring a smile to your own
lips and perhaps a wish for a friendly ghost or two of your own.
Gabe MacGowan—a sexy, brooding, guilt-ridden widower and
father to mischievous seven-yearold Jake—is the proprietor
of Odin’s Thumb Inn and Pub in a misty Scottish seaside
village. He decides to sell the inn and move, not only to
give his son a more stable environment, but to escape the
ghosts who haunt him—in particular his dead wife.
Gabe hires Allie Morgan, an easy-going and fun-loving
American, to oust the spirits who are chasing away potential
buyers. Odin’s Thumb is bustling with frightened tourists,
quirky residents of the village, and dodgy yet lovable
apparitions—including the ghost of a sea captain who fancies
Allie. Allie knows she can help Gabe chase away his own
ghosts, but can she help him rediscover life—and love?
