Katie Brenneman has always admired widower Jonathan Lundy
from afar, yet he has never showed any favor in her
direction. When he needs someone to watch over his
daughters, Katie is thrilled that she is considered an
option. However she does not want to be seen as someone
just to oversee his daughters, she wants to have his love
as well. Though Katie is fully committed to the Amish way
of life, it was not always so. She lived a bit on the wild
side during her running around years, and she almost chose
to stay with the Englishers. Unfortunately, a secret that
she has harbored these last few years seems to be catching
up with her. Will Jonathan Lundy finally see her as a
prospective wife instead of a housekeeper? Or will this
secret from her past ruin her chance at future happiness?
Jonathan Lundy is content with his life, yet his world is
about to be disrupted by his sister who wants a little
something more out of her life. He is a widower with two
small daughters, and he depends on his sister to take care
of his children. When he learns that she is taking a trip,
he needs to find someone to fill her place in his
household. It seems a good idea that his sister's friend
Katie should be asked. He never expected that Katie would
shake up his nicely ordered world. He has never thought
about remarrying, yet his daughters do need a motherly
influence on their lives and his sister may not always be
there. Has he been living in a haze? Is this God's way of
opening his eyes to the world around him?
Shelley Shepard Gray weaves an endearing inspirational
romance. Her second story is as amazing as her first
tale. Ms. Gray gives us another glimpse into the life of
the Amish. She gently shows us that God has a plan for
each of us if we will forgive ourselves and embrace what He
has given us. Katie needs to let go of her past before she
can have any type of future. Jonathan needs to step out of
death's shadow and start living again. WANTED is a
delightful read that reveals to us that no matter what our
past holds, there is a loving God who offers redemption and
a chance for a new life. This is an excellent series and I
cannot wait to see how the next story will unfold.
For a split second, Katie feels certain
she's about to receive everything she's ever wanted. . .
Twenty-year-old Katie Brenneman has
always quietly fancied Jonathan Lundy. So when the
brokenhearted widower asks her to help him take care of his
two young girls, Katie knows it will be a trying time—yet
she cannot pass up a golden opportunity to get to know this
man better.
Just as she's settling into her new
life, a message arrives from Katie's past, threatening to
expose her darkest secrets. During her Rumspringa, her
running-around years, she experimented with activities
forbidden in the Amish way of life. Frightened by how far
she'd strayed from her values, Katie ran back home, vowing
to cut all ties with the outside world. Now her
transgressions are coming back to haunt her, just as
Jonathan seems willing to welcome her into his heart.
Will the past destroy Katie's chances for love? Or will
Katie allow herself to accept God's love, forgive her past,
and receive everything she's ever wanted?
