I've been a fan of Vicki Lewis Thompson for more years than
I care to count. I eagerly await each and every one of her
books. They are such a joy to read!
This book gives us the story of Gwen Dubois. Gwen lives in
Big Knob in a little French cottage her father built for
his family. She also owns a flower shop and is very happy
but she longs for love. Lately she's been dreaming about a
big blond dude who makes her hot and bothered but her heart
belongs to Frenchman Marc Chevalier. She has been
corresponding with Marc since she found some extremely
strange and rare plants in the forest. Unbeknownst to Gwen,
Dorcas and Ambrose have had a small hand in getting the
ball rolling for her and Marc. They have been doing a
little bit of matchmaking spell casting.
Marc can't wait to meet Gwen. He has enjoyed corresponding
with her and since he has to go to a botanical conference
in the United States, he decides to swing by Big Knob to
see her plants, meet her and see what transpires. With a
small bit of help from Dorcas and Ambrose, quite a bit
transpires! Whew!
Of course no Hex book is without the incorrigible George,
the dragon! Is George trying to behave now or does he have
more characters to help him misbehave?
I absolutely cannot say enough good things about the Hex
books. They are fun, quirky reads. My only problem is I
race through each one of them because I just can't wait to
see how they end. Vicki Lewis Thompson has given me many
hours of reading enjoyment over the years and I'm sure she
will give me many more!
Gwen Dubois lives in Indiana, but her heart is in France
with Marc Chevalier, a man she met online. Now he’s come to
Big Knob to show Gwen the meaning of amour and spirit her
back to Paris. But stiff competition is coming from another
part of the world—if not exactly this world. Prince Leo of
the Atwood fairy kingdom has his own plans for Gwen,
creating a romantic mishap that only Big Knob’s resident
witch and wizard can untangle.
