Lizzie Gilbred is a smart, capable woman when it comes to her career, but her love life never seems to fall into place. She has fallen in love with a man who has left her not once but twice for the same woman. To make matters worse, this time he broke up with her through a text message. Once she realizes how pathetic she is longing for him, she decides she needs to live on the edge. It is Christmastime, and she needs a little present to take her mind off her ex. When she sees Gauge, her tenant, going up to his apartment above her garage, she knows that he is the perfect gift to rinse away all her bad memories. What could be better than some wild one-night stand to give her a new outlook on life? Who knew that she would let her heart become entangled with her sexy boarder?

Patrick Gauge is a musician who never seems to stay in one place, yet he has remained in Fantasy, Michigan longer than anywhere else. He has no particular ties to the town except Nina, the woman he loves who is now married to his best friend. Of course, there is also his music store, but that only reminds him of Nina. When Lizzie comes knocking on his door, he knows what she is after. He is more than willing to accommodate her if only to distract himself from Nina for a while. He never thought one night would not be enough to fulfill his cravings. How does a man who never intended to settle down deal with the indescribable feelings in his heart? Will he have the courage to stay or will he run away?

Tori Carrington has written a blazing hot romance. This writing duo has taken the idea of a one-night stand and let it blossom into something more. Lizzie knows what she wants out of life, and decides to grasp the opportunity when it is presented to her. Gauge is content with wandering from town to town -- never settling down and certainly never giving his heart to anything but his music. I enjoyed watching the barriers bending and eventually breaking as Lizzie's conservative world collided with Gauge's daring one. RESTLESS takes us through an arduous journey of the heart for this seemingly mismatched pair. This is a perfect tale to cuddle up with, and I am sure it will warm up those wintry nights.

SUMMARY

Straitlaced lawyer Lizzie Gilbred has had it with being a good girl. This Christmas, she's going to be naughty—very, very naughty. And lucky for her, she knows just the guy to help her….

Patrick Gauge, a footloose musician with a body to die for, is exactly the type of man Lizzie's got on her holiday wish list. What better way to take the plunge into the official world of "bad girl-dom" than jumping right into his bed! Gauge makes her body sing…and it's a wickedly seductive tune.

Lizzie can't believe what a wildcat she becomes in his arms. But it's clearly just a physical thing between her and the restless guitarist….

That is, unless she can find a new song for them to play— one with more permanent lyrics!
