Grace Hamilton is a young, impressionable, and idealistic
woman. This idealism led her to make a horrible mistake;
one that she knew that she could never take back, and one
that she knew could ruin her future and that of her
family. You see, she trusted Lord Wesley when he said he
loved her. She trusted him when he said that he wanted to
marry her. She trusted him enough to give her body before
marriage. The pain that came after that mistake was
immediate and she began to realize just how cold the world
could be. So when she came across Lord Wesley's half
brother, who wanted to protect her reputation and take
care of her, she couldn't help herself from falling into
bed with him to help wash away the memories of his
horrible brother.
When Devlin Sharpe came across a half dressed Grace
Hamilton, he knew that his half brother would be
involved. Just looking at her while she tried to hold her
dress over herself made him want to throttle Lord Wesley.
Just looking at her in that condition made him want
nothing more than to hold her, protect her, and make her
feel better. So when she said that she wanted to make
love to him so that she could forget the bad memories
Wesley created, he couldn't say no. He didn't want to.
What he didn't realize is that once he'd had her, he would
never forget her, never move past her, and that every
woman he would have after her, would be nothing but a mere
stand in for her. And after two years, he knew that it
had been too long. He had to see her; had to be with her
again.
Grace had no idea what was going on when her carriage came
to a screaming halt. The last thing she ever expected was
to find Devlin Sharpe, the man that had helped her create
such wonderful memories, and the man that she had never
forgotten. Looking at him again was like drinking for the
first time in two years, but she was not going to be taken
advantage of. She was on a mission. She had to get to
her grandmother, before she decided she didn't want to see
her again. She'd waited all of her life to find a way to
mend the hurt that had been created when her mother had
run away with her father; and this was her chance. Not
even Devlin could stop her from doing that.
Devlin knows that Grace wants to see her grandmother, but
he can't just let her go. Deep down he knows that
whatever the connection is that they have, it's much more
than just physical. So he makes a compromise. Grace will
stay with him for one night and then he'll travel with her
to see her grandmother.
After their night together, Devlin knows that he can never
let her go. After finally seeing her grandmother for the
first time, she knows that the life she always dreamed of
will never be a reality. Now her only goal can be to
create the life that she desires with the only man that
she desires.
HOT SILK is a very easy read. The story is a very strong
one, but if you're not into a lot of very explicit erotic
scenes, this one isn't for you. Personally, I'm not
normally a huge fan of erotic fiction. I often find that
the erotic scenes are simply there to be there, and
actually add nothing to the story; not the case with HOT
SILK. Every scene in the book has a purpose, and that
includes the scenes that are erotic in nature. All in
all, not a bad read, and I'd definitely recommend this to
anyone out there that's interested in trying something
new.
Two years ago, with her reputation already in jeopardy, Miss
Grace Hamilton gave herself to a powerful, compelling
stranger in one night of delicious, quivering ecstasy.
Wild, bold, and wickedly sensual, Devlin Sharpe is a
highway-man and pirate- a scoundrel whose world is ruled
solely by pleasure. And now he has returned to claim Grace
again, vowing to make up for the time they've lost, to take
he to the heights of carnal abandon and show her the
exquisite bliss of exploring the darkest, most decadent
fantasies...
