Sirantha Jax has a unique genetic trait which allows her to
navigate ships through grimspace. She worked as a jumper
for a corporation for years before finding out about the
corruption running rife throughout the corporation. She
finds herself having to fight them to save her sanity and
being offered as a scapegoat for the death of thousands
during a crash.
When the corporation is defeated, Jax is asked to be an
ambassador to a planet which has stayed out of the conflict.
However, the collapse of the corporation has lead to the
need to make alliances which would never have been
considered in the past.
When she finds out that the Syndicate opposes the alliance
and threatens her mother, Jax will have to decide whether
family loyalty comes before the needs of her world.
WANDERLUST is a fast-paced, exciting story peopled with
unusual characters. Aguirre has done a great job of
world-building. The only drawback, WANDERLUST is the sequel
to GRIMSPACE and starts the action where the first book left
off. That made it a little hard to pick up all the threads
of story and make sense of them at the beginning. Once I
was able to sort out past events, the book drew me in until
it was hard to let go. Aguirre has created a series you
need to search out and read. You won't be sorry.
Broke and unemployed, “Jumper” Sirantha Jax accepts a
diplomatic mission for the government— only to find herself
up against Syndicate criminals, man-eating aliens, and her
own grimspaceweakened body.
