Anna Latham was unaware that there were creatures that
reveled in the night until she was attacked and changed
into a werewolf. She was also unaware that she possessed a
special ability that enticed the werewolf to change her.
The pack that welcomed her abused her and turned her into a
submissive that is afraid of any dominant male. When the
Marrok and the enforcer of the North American werewolves
come to rescue her, the wolf in her immediately responds to
Charles, the enforcer. She feels comfortable and safe with
him, but her previous abuse scars run too deep to ignore
them. Will she be able to accept a male into her life?
How will she as a coveted Omega wolf fit into a new pack?
Charles Cornick knows immediately that Anna is an Omega
wolf, a very precious member of their society. He also
recognizes her as his mate. He knows that her wolf has
accepted him, and understands that it will take some time
for her human side to accept him as a man. When he has to
do his job as the pack enforcer, Charles and Anna are
pulled into a situation that turns out to be more than just
a rogue werewolf and far more sinister than even they could
imagine. Will he be able to protect Anna from the evil
that threatens to destroy not just them but the whole
pack? How will he convince Anna that she is a cherished
and integral member of the pack?
Patricia Briggs creates a wonderful world where werewolves
coexist with humans. They have their own societal
structure and rules that must be followed. I was quickly
pulled into this urban fantasy, and found the characters to
be rather down to earth. Not only is there an ominous
adventure, but there is also a brewing romance to keep the
readers interested. However, many readers may want to
check out the preceding novella in the ON THE PROWL
anthology for some background information. CRY WOLF is a
fabulous urban fantasy that brings a whole new view of the
supernatural universe. This is my first glimpse into Ms.
Briggs' unique world, but I am sure it will not be my last.
Now Briggs begins an extraordinary new series set in
Mercy Thompson’s world—but with rules of its own.
INTRODUCING THE ALPHA AND OMEGA NOVELS...
Anna
never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a
violent attack... and became one herself. After three years
at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head
down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that
rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most
powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value
as a pack member—and as his mate.
