In 1192, Celestia Montehue is the odd one in the family,
even her looks are unique. She's blond, petite, has one
green eye and one blue eye while the rest of her family
are tall, flame-haired and gorgeous. The one thing that
she shares with her family is her healing abilities.
Nicholas Le Blanc is haunted by his past. While on a
crusade, he's ambushed, all the men with him are gone, a
sacred relic is stolen. Nicholas is held captive and
tortured for a year before he manages to escape, but in
order for Nicholas to gain his freedom he had to kill a
woman. The guilt of committing this act eats away at him.
The arranged marriage between these tortured souls doesn't
seem like a recipe for happiness. Celestia's new home is a
broken down keep that is haunted by the ghost of Nicholas's
mother. When a maid is founded murdered, a curse is
revealed. Celestia has fallen in love with her tortured
husband. Will Celestia and Nicholas be doomed? Or will
love's magic heal them?
One of the things that
I loved about LOVE'S MAGIC was Celestia's character. She's
tough and feisty and she will fight for what
she wants. The relationship development was a very sweet
because it's my favorite type--where two people who have no
intention of falling in
love, somehow do.
While her sisters are tall and beautiful, Celestia
Montehue is the misfit in a royal family—petite, with one
green and one blue eye. The only thing she has in common
with her ancestors is her magical healing ability. Fearing
no one will ever accept her, she vows never to marry.
Meanwhile, Nicholas Le Blanc, a haunted man, was trained
as a knight but his childhood has convinced him he is a
bastard. He is captured while on crusade and eventually
forced to kill for his freedom. An arranged marriage
between the two does not bode happiness, nor does
Celestia's new home—a broken-down keep haunted by the
ghost of Nicholas' mother. Soon a curse is set upon them,
and they must decide if their love will save them or,
ultimately, doom them.
