Witch for hire Bronwyn has relocated and settled into Sweet,
Texas. Loveable, misunderstood and dangerous, Bronwyn fits
in with the unusual town citizens. She's one witch
extraordinaire. Add in her arsenal of spells, potions, and
charms; it's enough to take down near any demon, warlock or
evil incarnate. She mixes everyday life with the
supernatural, paranormal and magical; with a collection of
unusual friends (one who sees dead people) and a coven.
Life couldn't be sweeter than life in Sweet, Texas. She's
got a new home, friends she likes and Sam's love. Bronwyn is
still at that new, fresh stage of a serious relationship
with Sam, a good warlock (yes there are some). Sam has
returned to his medical practice. He is recuperating, but
the healing process is slow, and he's acting very insecure.
Not that she's so sure of herself either. In a steady
relation is new to her. When duty calls, she's bummed, but
reluctantly accepts when the Prime Minister requests her
services in New York as witchy protection.
Talk about the hard life, sheiks and music stars, working in
the lap of the rich and famous. But she's got a past
relation with Sheik Azir, and blond beauty Zane has a
reputation for uncountable conquests. The summit goes well
until she taps into the fatal words, "they must die.'
The camera and tabloids have photographed her with Zane. Not
so good for Sam's self esteem. Why can't he just believe
that she truly loves him? This is her job.
There's serious mojo going on and Zane is the target, maybe.
Monks that are really demons have been plaguing him; leaving
him with attacks of near show stopping stage fright. From
New York to England trouble follows them, their modes
increasing in danger at each attempt. Outside of a private
club a demon spits poison at Bronwyn with near deadly
results. She is forced to give the assignment over to Callie.
Recuperating at home, she damns Sam's hypothetical oath. Did
he really expect her to take his ministering to her every
need while she laid flat on her back? Well, that was kind of
what she had in mind, but how long was a good woman supposed
to remain pure of heart when there was a hunk of a man to
care for her?
Soon enough she gets her way with Sam and good thing,
because the PM calls. Because Callie has rooted out a few
demons, Zane's acting like everything is fine. The PM
believes differently. He convinces her to return to duty but
this time in Los Angeles.
Demons are causing mischief a plenty there also. Simone's
leads connect that the demons and warlocks are working
together. Is Black Stone behind this? Captured by a nasty
nest of warlocks and demons, Bronwyn and Simone are in the
trouble of their life, their death, and worse than death.
I am not a fast reader. I gave up shopping to read CHARMED &
READY by Candace Havens. I admit, the writing style is not
for me: a journal type format, but I had so much fun reading
this book and finished it in 24 hours, probably a record for
me. Other viewers have explained it as a blend of Buffy the
Vampire Slayer, and who doesn't like Buffy?
After spending most of her life single-practically an
occupational hazard for a witch-Bronwyn's finally found a
sexy warlock to love. But it's going to take more than a few
love spells to keep him from getting jealous about her
latest gig-protecting a rock star named Zane from the creepy
Goth guys in cloaks who keep showing up at his concerts and
zapping his mojo. Bronwyn would like nothing better than to
blow them up in an inferno of Love That Red smoke, but
they're proving elusive. And in the meantime-what girl
wouldn't want to hang with the hottest man in music?
