Fantasy Urban | Romance Paranormal

If it weren't for bad luck, she'd have no luck at all! At least that's how Bella Bulluci feels, especially when surrounded by Bigtime's superheroes, which is pretty much all the time. The granddaughter, daughter and sister of one of Bigtime's greatest supers and soon to be sister-in-law to one of the formidable Fearless Five, Bella feels nothing but unlucky with the static electricity coursing through her system, causing embarrassing accidents to happen all the time. She longs for normalcy in her life, and an ordinary, attractive man to love her for herself. Even her grandpa, long-retired as super Johnny Angel, is getting more action than she is!

Debonair isn't what she's looking for in a man, but Bella finds herself strangely attracted to the sometimes hero/sometimes villain. They share a love of art, and they first meet when he's stealing a painting from her friends. When he turns up at a museum show, Bella is determined he's not going to ruin the charity event. But he ends up saving her when the Hangman crashes the party intending to steal the Star Sapphire. Using his teleporting powers, Debonair whisks Bella and the sapphire out of harm's way.

Though wildly attracted to Debonair, Bella fights it, knowing there's no future for them. They have a bigger problem on their hands than their mutual attraction. Bigtime has a new ubervillian, and Prism is determined to bring the town to its knees. Bella will have to learn to harness her bad luck and turn it into something good before Bigtime, and those she loves most, are brought to their knees by two of the most evil ubervillians to set up shop in Bigtime.

JINX by Jennifer Estep is a delightful return to the world of superheroes and ubervillians, and Debonair and Bella are two of the best! Bella's insecurities make her charmingly vulnerable, and Debonair, both as the art-loving superhero and his alter ego, are the perfect foil for her. This adventure is exciting and original fun, and the return of many familiar and much-loved characters make this an entertaining visit with old friends. I can't wait to meet the next superhero and ubervillian in the Bigtime series!

SUMMARY

Bella Bulluci’s big passion is the arts. Her big pain is being born into a family of superheroes. Of course, Bella might feel differently if her own superpower was one she could control – or at least get some use out of. Instead, her power is one of capricious luck – supercharged telekinesis. In other words, static electricity. Bella knows that’s not a power – just a jinx.

During a gala fundraiser for the local art museum, Bella comes upon two things no Bigtime supergirl should be without: an ubervillain of her very own who plans to steal a priceless gem; and a dashing – if slightly shady – stranger named Debonair. He may have a reputation as a notorious playboy, but the real sparks are going to come from Bella, who’s finally going to learn just how well love and danger can go together …
