BAD BLOOD by L.A. Banks launches the Crimson Moon series,
where Ms. Banks focuses her expert storytelling skills on
werewolves. In this first story, Sasha Trudeau is a
member of a unique Special Ops team charged with keeping
the human community unaware of the werewolf community by
taking down the demon-infected wolves that would threaten
humanity. When she returns from her most recent mission,
she discovers that all of the members of her elite
fighting team are either dead or missing, and she's
determined to find out why.
Ms. Banks gives a thrilling tale that is part thriller and
part romance wrapped up in an entrancing paranormal bow.
I was immediately taken with the complexity of the story
and with the masterful, highly sensual yet hardly explicit
love scenes. Like a movie that you get something
different from each time you watch it, I could easily read
this story again and again, discovering some new layer
each time. I'm not a big paranormal fan but BAD BLOOD is
a captivating good-vs-evil story. I will anxiously await
the next installment of this series.
Sasha Trudeau knows all about working beneath the shadows,
back-alley deals, and things that go bump in the night. She
also knows
that the world is unaware of the existence of the
paranormal—and that
the government would like to keep it that way.
As a
highly trained Special Ops soldier, Sasha and her team are
an elite
group of individuals who are survivors of werewolf attacks,
now trained
to be loyal to only to each other and their government. But
when she
returns from a solo mission, she finds that her team has
mysteriously
gone missing. Shocking government conspiracies, double-dealing
vampires, and a host of stunning revelations about who—and
what—she
really is are only just the beginning...
